There's a cold front coming in!!!

Everyone is buying milk and bread, filling up their trucks with gas, putting on snow tires, because there's a blizzard coming!
However...
Yesterday, Samantha was out and about taking pictures around our yard. Pictures of the trees in their winter starkness. Pictures of shadows cast from the bright sunshine.
And she was doing it in a t-shirt! Oklahoma weather this time of year is truly unpredictable. Gotta love it! Susan

How do you like your waffles? We made waffles when I got home from work tonight. Stephen mixed them up and I cooked them. Samantha had the idea to put chocolate chips in them and so we chopped some chips up into little pieces and Samantha proceeded to add them to the mix. I was just a second too late! I knew Stephen wouldn't want anything fancy in his waffle (predictable remember) . We were able to save just enough for his 2 waffles since the dump happened on the side of the bowl!

Then came the task of deciding how we wanted to eat our waffles. I decided on powdered sugar and chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Samantha decided on powdered sugar, syrup and a side of whipped cream. Stephen of course had syrup thank you very much! All I can say was Yum! No one was disappointed. Til then, Susan

School day

Well, some surrounding schools were out yesterday, but Samantha was thrilled (sarcasm) to find out that ours wasn't one of them. She drug her feet out the door and was dazed thru most of school. She texted me at lunch and said she didn't even have the energy to go across the street to eat with her friends! Poor girl... She was more awake as she went to school today, we will see how it goes.

AWANA

Tonight was Policeman night at AWANA.  I had the lesson, so of course I had a built in prop!  My wonderful husband stood up in front of 20 some girls and ladies, while I compared his uniform to the armor of God.  And also spoke about how we each need to be acting like Christians in and out of church.  Just like Stephen is still a trooper even though he is out of uniform.

This got me thinking of way back when Stephen and I were first together.  I was finishing my sophomore year of college and he was off to be a police officer and hopefully on to the OHP.  I was really upset because in my mind, him being a police officer would change WHO he was.  Oh the young and ignorant.  I honestly do not think Stephen has changed much since the time he told me that he wouldn't change just because he had a uniform on.  He has been strong and steadfast always.  It is one of the wonderful things about him.

He was and always will be very particular about things such as his uniform.  The only people allowed to smudge his badge have been his grandma and his daughter.  I have a great picture of Samantha with him sitting on the floor.  She was just pulling up to things, and had actually used his badge to pull herself up to get closer to him.  It was precious.  I will post it another time.  Now it's late and I need my sleep...

Today was the day we had been waiting for.  After 2 years of braces the new whites were revealed! I think they turned out beautiful! It was also a day of snow. The winter weather was forecasted to come in on Sunday night, so Samantha decided we should go and spend the night with Patsy so we couldn't miss her appointment. Therefore, we loaded up the dog and spent the night in Enid.  I am glad we did because the roads were pretty slick in spots.  We drove by 2 overturned vehicles, and numerous drive offs.  Thankfully no one was killed.

Well, here it is!!! Isn't she a smilin' fool!  And Zoey looks bored with the whole vehicle experience.  Overall, it was a good trip and a nice time with family.  Patsy leaves next week for a mission trip, so we want to pass some prayers up for her.  We were able to go shopping and I bought some new shoes for walking on the treadmill.  Gotta get off this chair sometime!

The trip home was better than the trip to Enid, so we made some memories and bonded for one more day!
